Christmas began with the lighting of crosses in the Waraira Repano and the Fabricio Ojeda Nucleus

The mayor of Caracas A/J Carmen Meléndez stressed that in 2024 not only will the traditional lighting of the Cross of Waraira Repano take place, but simultaneously in the Endogenous Nucleus Fabricio Ojeda in Los Magallanes de Catia there will also be an illuminated cross, as our Commander Hugo Chávez dreamed and ordered by President Nicolás Maduro.

For his part, the Minister for Culture, Vladimir Villegas, during the lighting of Christmas in the city of Caracas, from Plaza Bolívar, called for taking the spaces and squares of the country to enjoy the beginning of the Christmas season in peace.

“Christmas is a cycle of celebrations linked to the end of the year that allows us to reaffirm our cultural identity because if it has very own traits anywhere, it is here in Venezuela,” he said before the lighting of the Wuaraira Repano Cross, a traditional symbol of Christmas in Caracas.
