The Republic of Cuba received a batch of strategic materials from the People's Republic of China, in order to finance the country's electrical restoration; as part of the project for equipment and spare parts for electric generators.
Beijing gave a significant donation to Havana for the restoration of generation capacities of about 400 megawatts in more than 70 diesel and fuel power plants in the Cuban territory.
This process is possible due to the consensus reached between the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Cane l and the president of the Asian giant, Xi Jinping, and multisectoral cooperation projects are also included.
The Chinese ambassador to Cuba, Hua Xin, presided over the delivery ceremony at José Martí International Airport. He indicated that the first batch of equipment has a total weight of 69 tons and contains radiators, motors and other related accessories.
Xin specified that other shipments of donations will arrive to join the “solidarity support in the generation of electricity and benefit the Cuban population, overwhelmed by the constant scheduled blackouts.”
