This Tuesday, the People's Republic of China announced the application of customs tariffs to various kinds of imports from the United States (USA), in a reaction to the 10 percent tariffs implemented by the Government of US President Donald Trump.

The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council clarified that “the unilateral imposition of tariffs by the United States constitutes a serious violation of the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which is not only useless for solving its own problems, but also harms normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States.”

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Sunday that Beijing will file a lawsuit with the WTO against the United States over the tariffs established by Trump.
