China assured that external interference cannot stop reunification with Taiwan

This Wednesday, the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping met with former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou and said that outside influence cannot stop the “family” reunion between Beijing and Taipei.

The Chinese president emphasized the dialogue between the two sides during the meeting with the representative of Taiwan and said that all issues can be discussed, the news agency Reuters reported.

“External interference cannot stop the historic trend of reunification of the country and the family,” said the Chinese president, according to an Al Jazeera publication.

The president considers the autonomous island as a province that must be reunited with mainland China and has not ruled out using force to assert his claims to Taiwan.
