Chávez undefeated: We are in an era of awakenings and resurrections

On December 14, 1994, Commander Hugo Chávez assured that, as the poet and writer Pablo Neruda said, The Liberator Simon Bolivar wakes up every 100 years.

“Without a doubt, we are in an era of awakenings, of resurrections, of peoples, of strength and of hope (...) Without a doubt, we are in a bicentennial era. Let's see then that, as time calls and impels us, it is, without a doubt, a time to travel anew paths of hope and struggle,” said the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution.

In that regard, he highlighted the efforts to create “a long-term strategic project, in which Cubans have and will have a lot to contribute, a lot to discuss with us — it is a project with a horizon of 20 to 40 years, a sovereign economic model, we don't want to continue being a colonial economy; a complementary economic model.”
