Commander Hugo Chávez, on March 28, 2011, emphasized the importance of the political power deployed by the Socialist Party, “that power is, not to rule but to obey the People, obey the collective”.

We are here to obey, we are here for the People to command us, challenge us, scold us, Orient, criticize us and that's when he talks about power and power, which is the constituent power, the People, the original owner of power,” he said.

The leader explained that “if we become simple representatives of the People and then we assume ourselves to be the power to rule and the People live or not to obey (...) we would be in the presence of the true and profound political corruption”.

In that sense, he assured that whoever governs only to rule forgets the original constituent power, “I am here to obey that power, I owe it to him, to the supreme People's Power, to popular interests.”
