From the Miraflores Palace, on February 9, 2003, Commander Hugo Chávez emphasized that the union leaders in Venezuela always betrayed the workers, while the Government Bolivarian comes to his defense.

“That corrupt union leadership always betrayed the workers and made pacts with the business leadership to take away social benefits from workers, for example, they wanted to privatize social security, they have never protested against the abuse of the private sectors against workers. They have always left workers alone in their fight against abuses, harassment and ignorance of their rights,” said the Commander during President Aló No. 138.

In this regard, he stressed that it is always the Bolivarian Government that has come out in defense of workers, “in the face of the outrage of some employers in some cases, but there is no in Venezuela, there was never a CTV in Venezuela that truly defended workers.”
