On November 12, 2011, Commander Hugo Chávez, from the National Theater in Caracas, invited patriots to defend the Revolution to continue the path started by Francisco de Miranda, Simón Bolívar, Antonio José de Sucre, Josefa Camejo and Luisa Cáceres.
“It's us, it was our turn to take back that torch that was out there and light it again, it was our turn to take back that flag that was there, as Jorge Eliécer Gaitán would say, buried in mud, buried by ignominy,” said the leader of the Revolution.
During his speech, the Commander recalled the words of the Liberator: “My opinion is, legislators, that the foundation of our system depends immediately and exclusively on the equality established and practiced in Venezuela”, so he assured that “Bolivar was also a master of the word, while assuring that Simon himself introduced socialist thinking when he said “nature makes men unequal in genius, temperament, strength and character. Laws correct this difference because they place the individual in society so that education, industry, arts, services, virtues, give him a fictitious equality, properly called political equality and social equality”.
