On November 24, 2010, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, reiterated his commitment to strengthening unity, so as not to allow the enemy to weaken the internal cohesion of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and this national alliance of progressive and revolutionary forces. From the Miraflores Palace, he indicated that in Venezuela “there are two poles, the extreme right that is grouped there and the patriotic pole, us, the patriots and the stateless, and everyone who chooses.” In that sense, he explained that the first project is that of “free, independent Venezuela and here, a developed democracy, Socialism, democracy, humanism. The greatest amount of happiness possible. The other project is that of the right and the extreme right, who intend to bring us back to our knees before the empire”. He also said that “it is necessary that we combat, but very strongly, this capitalist culture, inherited from the past because, inherited from the adeca culture, from the puntofijista culture, and that criticism”.
