On August 15, 2012, from the Municipal Theater in Caracas, Commander Hugo Chávez asked God for his life to continue to fulfill his plan in Venezuela.

In that regard, he reiterated his love for Venezuelans and promised to dedicate all his “intellectual, personal and physical effort” to fight the battle in front of the people.

“The Venezuelan is one of the most heroic peoples that has given birth to this land over the centuries; and for me it is an honor to be with you in this battle, to secure the future of Venezuela, to prevent Venezuela from falling back into the hands of this upper bourgeoisie, who does not love this country, who does not feel patriotic, who does not love this people, but hates it; to prevent Venezuela from falling back into the clutches of imperialism and that they return to subjugate this people, not that, it's not going to happen,” he said.

Chávez warned that the right wing is preparing to ignore the electoral result, “because they know that, it will be easier for a hundred camels to go through the eye of a needle, for the Venezuelan bourgeoisie to win the elections on October 7, they will not be able to do it. They're not going to be able to do it. But be careful, we have to win the elections, take care of every vote, turn every patriotic soul into a vote, into millions of votes and then defend the victory.”
