On February 15, 2012, Commander Hugo Chávez, from Ciudad Bolivar, assured that Chavism is a guarantee of stability and peace; “now tomorrow and always”.

In this regard, the leader of the Revolution recalled how the Supreme Court of Justice “decided that there was practically no coup d'etat here because, (...) That day a civil war could have broken out in Venezuela, or something serious, well, violence could have broken out, well. When the court, using some sectors of some mechanisms and tricks (...), achieved a majority by a circumstantial vote; and with that majority, even threatening some magistrates, buying others with a lot of money, the bourgeoisie and the coup plotters achieved that decision, which reads, among other things, verbatim: “The President of the Republic, Hugo Chávez Frías, was not kidnapped, but was guarded by a group of soldiers who had good intentions”.

He also specified that his call to the People was to respect that decision of the highest court, “because that's how we real democrats have to act, so we real republicans have to act, regardless of the political color, and above all those of us who have more responsibilities, we have to set an example.”
