On October 4, 2012, Commander Hugo Chávez, from Bolívar Avenue in Caracas, assured that the Bolivarian Revolution is the result of 500 years of battle.

In this sense, the leader of the Revolution assured that “we come from afar, we come from afar and this battle of ours is long, this battle of ours is more than 500 years old on this earth. Here are the children of Guaicaipura”.

He also took the opportunity to praise the struggle of our aborigines, “of aboriginal resistance, of Indian resistance, of black resistance, of the exploited, of the always dominated. The battle has been a long one.”

“We are the sons of Simon Bolivar, (...) We are the sons of Maisanta's cavalry charges and the last men on horseback, the day we have been fighting is long. We are the children of the guerrilla columns of Argimiro Gabaldón, with their heart and arm, we are those of Caracazo”.
