On August 24, 2012, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, told the People of Cumanacoa that he had all the support of the Bolivarian Government to recover everything that they had lost because of heavy rains in Sucre state.

“Well, we're going to make sure they get the food they need for drinking water, and if it were necessary to evacuate them, we're prepared to do it, may God bless you and take care of you (...) that's where the equipment comes with the water, the food to restore electricity, I'm going to continue, but count on me, count on us”, said the Commander during his visit to the Town of Cumanacoa.

It also reaffirmed the commitment of the Revolution to guarantee all attention so that the people who were affected by the tragedy would not lack anything.
