Chávez to the militancy: Let's prepare a media offensive, we are not playing alone

From the Miraflores Palace, on October 25, 2010, Commander Hugo Chávez Frías called on the revolutionary forces to prepare a media offensive against opponents who attack the Bolivarian Revolution by all means.

“Every plan, especially the most sensitive plans, but I say every plan, must be accompanied by a media strategy, an offensive one. We are not playing alone, there is an adversary who has psychological warfare laboratories 24 hours a day,” urged the Commander.

He recalled that the right wing, always with its laboratories, always invents anything to attack the Revolution or justify its actions, referring to the events of the Referendum. “It hadn't been half an hour before the version began to circulate that it wasn't that Chávez the tyrant recognized the defeat, no, it was the Military High Command that came to Miraflores and they almost took pictures, and that I was knocking down the curtains and knocking on the windows, (...) all that started to circulate and there are people who believe it (...) this is an indicator that there is a psychological warfare laboratory 24 hours a day and with a lot of capacity, it's the CIA well and experts in this matter,” he said.

For this reason, he reaffirmed the importance of not underestimating the media battle. “We can't underestimate that battle factor, it's a serious mistake that we sometimes make, very often and this is an example. Since when we have had to start an information campaign (...) we all always consider this factor, when we are going to make decisions that have been prepared, well studied, well thought out, well discussed, well diagnosed, in this case as a national need”, he said.
