On December 28, 2010, Commander Hugo Chávez, from the state of Aragua, called for unity in the face of calls for violence from the extremist right.

In this regard, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution assured that in the face of these acts “we will be more united and more committed to the Bolivarian Constitution, to the Bolivarian Revolution and to the new Homeland.”

He also warned that the aggressions of the right wing and their spokespersons will continue. “They will continue to make public and other not so public calls, to sectors of the Armed Forces, seeking to rise up against the regime as they call it, the tyrannical of Chávez, to rise up against the Constitution,” he said.

Finally, he said that “the time has passed, when this country was spat on, harassed. There are those stateless people who lend themselves to spitting on their own mother, on their own country. Not us, we are capable of giving our blood, our blood and our life for the dignity of this country, for the independence of this country, for the sovereignty of this country”.
