Chávez on the OAS: It's the gringo ministry of the colonies

On May 25, 2009, from the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, Commander Hugo Chávez supported Raúl Roa's theory, for The time Chancellor of the Republic of Cuba, when he stated that the Organization of American States (OAS) is the ministry of the colonies.

The gringo ministry of the colonies, that hasn't changed. You don't see, then, that we are condemned all the time, and it's the OAS, and then the Secretary General comes and washes his hands when they ask him, isn't he? Nobody is responsible, there are some bureaucrats out there that nobody knows them,” he said.

The Bolivarian leader assured that in the OAS they work surreptitiously in the shadows, as Simon Bolivar said one day: “Only crime works in the shade... Nobody knows them, nobody chose them.”

“What is the OAS for? It's not just that it's useless, it's not that it serves the interests of the empire, the hegemonic interests of world capitalism in this continent,” he said.
