On January 13, 2012, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, made a call to “consolidate in this Latin American and Caribbean land a world of peace, and to give an example to that world of wars, miseries, violence and invasions, of how a world in democracy is built in the midst of the most high-sounding debates that can arise from our soul, from our spirits as fighters and fighters like us”.

In that sense, from the Federal Legislative Palace in Caracas, he denounced how the imperial plan tried to dismantle the Armed Forces, to impose the Southern Command, and its intention to push aside politics.

“Therefore, welcome politics, and let us politicians be real politicians, let's try to be real politicians, let's make the effort. I am sure that our country will overcome all the difficulties (...) that arise along the way, and institutionality will prevail and within its framework something that we have to take great care of: National peace”, he said.
