Chávez Gigante: Oligarchic elites seek to reinstall the neoliberal model in Venezuela to regain control

The Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez asserted that the country's oligarchic elites seek to reinstall the neoliberal model in Venezuela to regain control of the country's wealth.
“The enemies of the country don't just want Chávez to go, it's not just because of Chávez, what they want is to take over the country again, as they owned it for half a century. What they intend is to reinstall the wild neoliberal model in Venezuela in order to benefit from the country's wealth as they benefited for so long, they made great fortunes and have them placed in banks outside the country, billions of dollars, while they abandoned the people and left them adrift,” he said on January 18, 2003.
He also argued that while they left the country in poverty and misery the vast majority of Venezuelans, the people were sinking, seeing the face of the demon of poverty, hunger and desolation.
“The coup plotters who today intend to overthrow this government, have launched the entire April coup d'etat, the December oil coup, now they want to deny food and gasoline and water to Venezuelans, what they want is not to remove Chávez, what they intend is to throw back a Constitution, tear down a state, destroy the Republic so that they can become the owners of Venezuela as they always were,” he reiterated.
He pointed out that the Bolivarian Government has always wanted to dialogue, to talk, “we have had infinite patience”, yet they have raised the conflict and have left us no alternative but to fight this great battle.
