The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, participated this Wednesday in the presentation of the book “Maja Mía”, written by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas Poljak.

Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister pointed out that the moving work is dedicated to Villegas's mother, Maja Poljak, whom he exalted as “a revolutionary woman and outstanding journalist, whose legacy is of great relevance to the historical memory of our nation.”

In this regard, he celebrated “this great literary contribution” and invited the entire population to learn about the legacy of this important leader of Croatian nationality, who arrived in Venezuela fleeing the Nazism that hit Europe in the late 1940s, and is the protagonist of the fifth book published by Villegas.

“Maja Mía” is a 633-page investigation that the author describes as an effort to reconstruct the history of his mother, alias María Vera, written on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth.

The presentation was made in the auditorium of the newspaper Última Noticias, in Caracas. “More than a christening, it was an unforgettable act of love. It began with a choreography, created by Jericó Montilla, who cried trembling from start to finish. Seeing your parents dance, fight and love each other, beyond death, was an extreme mouse-opener,” Villegas said in his user X.
