The Venezuelan People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, said this Wednesday, during an interview with HispanTV and TELESUR, that the martyred Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, succeeded in inserting the Islamic Republic of Iran into the peoples of Latin America.

“With great wisdom, Raisi overcame a campaign of hate, fear and discredit against his country, sponsored by the United States. He showed with deeds, with his presence, with his support, all the strengths of Iran and its honorable role in the world; he gave it a position of respect,” he said.

Along these lines, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister emphasized that thanks to Raisi's invaluable work, the Persian nation is currently a “key element, a cornerstone for maintaining balance, peace, the vision of building a multicentric and multipolar world”, a clear example of this being its membership in the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), which is also an “aspiration of Venezuela”.

Gil announced that a Joint Commission between Venezuela and Iran will soon be set up to discuss issues of common interest, in order to strengthen political, economic and social development, marked by a “model relationship that goes far beyond the traditional of diplomatic ties.”

“The strategic friendship between Iran and Venezuela is characterized by the values of solidarity, respect, peace and sovereignty, but above all by a unique brotherhood that President Raisi consolidated,” he said, while recalling Iran's support to combat the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the White House and replicated by its international partners, who constantly violate international law to defend their economic interests and geostrategic.

“They are criminals, they have no morals, nor any element to question any country in the world, much less Iran and Venezuela, where, through facts, the flag of human rights is raised, something that is reflected in allowing peoples to have access to health, education, access to development,” he said.

The Venezuelan diplomat participates in Tehran in the funeral ceremony of the Iranian President, who changed scenery on May 19 -together with his entourage-, due to a helicopter accident in the province of East Azerbaijan.

“I think that beyond the emotions caused by Raisi's physical departure, which are many, we have been able to appreciate the strength and strength of our friendship, because it transcends,” he concluded.
