Chancellor Gil celebrates 79 years of the Arab League: We reaffirm our firm support for its principles

The Minister of
Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, joined this Friday, on behalf of the
Government of Venezuela, in the commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Arab League.
Through his
account on the social network X, the Chancellor recalled that the block was created “with the
objective of promoting cooperation, unity, development and peace among Arab
nations. From Venezuela, we join the commemoration of this
anniversary and reaffirm our strong support for its principles,” he said.
The Arab League
(LEA) was founded on March 22, 1945 in the city of Cairo, Egypt, and
has 22 member countries, such as Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros,
Djibouti, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon,
Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Qatar, Oman, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia,
Yemen and Syria, which was suspended in November 2011.
This organization
meets in March and September, although sometimes they hold
extraordinary meetings during the year, to strengthen relations between
member States, coordinate their policies and contribute to the preservation of their independence.
