This Tuesday, October 22, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, stressed that the Bolivarian Government is committed to joining the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and to the adherence to the principles of this body, to expand cooperation and strengthen political and economic relations with member countries.
Speaking to Venezolana de Televisión, from Russia, Gil said that “we have not only discussed the action of the BRICS, a block founded in 2006 and the incorporation of South Africa in 2010.”
“In other words, this is an expanding block of emerging countries that have been clamoring for a new world order, a new economic, political and social order, precisely in the face of the crisis of the multilateral system and where Venezuela has actively participated, from all the spaces where it has been invited,” he stressed.
He also highlighted that the country plans to enter into a new partnership with the BRICS, “where it can contribute not only to energy in oil and gas, but also in the field of exports and production and the different alliances with the member countries of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).”
