The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, presided over the closing of the Caribbean Regional Seminar of the United Nations Committee on Special Policy and Decolonization, held from May 14 to 16 in the Venezuela Hall of the Military Circle.

During his speech, the Foreign Minister emphasized the will of the Venezuelan people to overcome the effects of unilateral coercive measures that exceed 930.

“The will of a people, the will of your Government to resist, to move forward, to find new ways and the capacity to build new alliances in a complex world such as the one we live in have allowed us to show today what you have been able to see in this city, in our country, a country that is rising up, that goes ahead, that wins and that has the courage today for this seminar and in all the United Nations bodies”.

The head of Foreign Relations, specified that the “application of unilateral coercive measures is nothing more than an extension of the application of colonialism (...) that is nothing more than a neocolonial practice that must also be debated at some time within the United Nations and that must be condemned by members; no country deserves sanctions and unilateral coercive measures that threaten the well-being of peoples, no country deserves to be a victim of these measures.
