The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Oliver Blanco described as “successful” the working day and the bilateral meetings held in Washington in the United States (USA), stressing the consolidation of a “diplomacy with concrete results focused on the economic reactivation and social protection of Venezuelan citizens abroad.”
On Saturday night, Blanco highlighted that efforts were focused on boosting bilateral trade and articulating strategic alliances to strengthen the national economy and promote the ratification of the multilateral social security agreement in the Ibero-American community, an initiative promoted by the Executive to protect workers and their families abroad.
“We seek an agreement that protects Venezuelan workers wherever they are in the Ibero-American community and also guarantees respect for their rights in Venezuelan families, including people with disabilities,” said the foreign minister.
He also reported on a series of high-level meetings with his peers in the region. According to official statements, these multilateral approaches had as their priority the defense of the Venezuelan diaspora and the creation of mechanisms for economic cooperation and commercial exchange aimed at the direct benefit of the population.
