CELARG exhibits kinetic art by master Juvenal Ravelo

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG) bears the seal of the Venezuelan plastic artist, Juvenal Ravelo, who inaugurated his work of kinetic art of monumental proportions.

“I am very happy because I read a lot about Rómulo Gallegos at my high school in Caripito. I thank the National Government for having done this work, for vindicating this great writer,” said Ravelo during the inauguration of the work called: Fr agmentación del color. Literature and kinetic art, as a Latin American cultural binomial.

The unveiling of the work was accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas Poljak, and the president of CELARG, Pedro Calzadilla, who thanked the Venezuelan artist for adding his work to “the great work of art, under permanent construction, which is the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies Rómulo Gallegos”.

According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the work has dimensions of eight meters high and 14 meters wide and for its creation, long-format factory sheets, both 3,050×1250 mm and 2,510×1,250 mm, were used, placed in strategic directions to achieve an impressive visual effect.

In addition, special custom-made pieces were designed to be integrated into the internal façade, following the creative proposal of the master Ravelo.
