The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) prepared the agenda of documents that will be available to the foreign ministers of the 33 member States for approval, and subsequent review by the respective heads of state.

At the XLVI Regular Meeting of National Coordinators, the last of the pro tempore presidency of the Republic of Honduras, the work of the Central American country at the head of the organization was analyzed during a year in which 16 meetings of this type were held.

On the agenda of the meeting, the discussion of the Tegucigalpa Declaration highlighted its importance as a key document in the regional consensus of Latin America and the Caribbean. The text summarizes the actions and agreements reached during the working group meetings of the period 2024-2025.

The Deputy Foreign Policy Minister of Honduras, Gerardo Torres, recalled that CELAC, over the past few months, has responded to the challenges of food security, climate change, human mobility, the construction of a new financial and energy architecture, and women's rights.

Torres described the work carried out over the past year under the command of the president, Xiomara Castro, as sustained and collaborative, and also highlighted the nation's commitment to the principles of unity and regional consultation. “The most important thing is our America, our Great Homeland,” he said.
