The Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, during his participation in the II National Maize Congress Expo, said that producers in this sector have a great challenge, which is to combat the three elements that affect planet Earth: climate change, global conflicts and pandemics.

In that scenario, he considered that these challenges are overcome with knowledge and wisdom. “The magic cure to combat the crisis facing humanity, such as climate change, global conflicts and pandemics, is through knowledge,” he said in his account on the social network X.

Castro Soteldo said that he attended this event held in the state of Lara, following the guidance of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, given the importance of corn and its strategic role in the country's food security and sovereignty.

He highlighted the progress “towards the new trend of the agricultural revolution, we are moving towards agroecology, the elimination of pesticides and towards combating the effects of climate change”.

He also reported that “at this Expo, several papers will be given that will focus on research efforts and practices to move towards this new trend”.

“We must change progressively, work with the relevant technologies to take a positive step in the country's agricultural production,” he stressed.
