Carmen Meléndez on the Caracazo: The People gave their cry for freedom

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, commemorated the men and women who courageously took to the streets on February 27, 1989 in defense of their rights as citizens.
“That day, the People gave their cry for freedom, for Revolution, and the People of Caracas, Guarenas and the whole country said: “Enough, oligarchy,” Meléndez said through the social network Instagram.
He stressed that February 27, 1989, was the trigger that started the Bolivarian Revolution.
“Today we remember that moment and are proud of every battle fought, every victory achieved. Our people are rebels and do not give up. We are still doing Patria,” he said.
