Venezuelan receiver Carlos Narvaez was called to the big leagues by the New York Yankees from the Triple A branch in Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

Narvaez, 25, has been part of the roster of 40 of the bombers since November.

His call to the Big Tent was due to the inclusion of gardener Alex Verdugo on the paternity list. An action that opened space for the Venezuelan on the active roster of 26 players, LVBP press review.

In 23 games in the run-up to the majors at the start of the current season, Narvaez compiled an offensive line of .211/ .376/ .342 in 101 trips to the plate, with a pair of home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 scored.

The native of Maracay signed the professional in 2015 as an international free agent with the New York organization. Since then, he has been conceptualized as a solid defensive catcher, especially because of his ability to guide the game, control the flow between the bases and block on tracks.
