CARACAS//Carmen Meléndez: Venezuela is respected because it is no one's colony

The vice-president of Regional and Municipal Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Carmen Meléndez, emphasized that Venezuela is no one's colony “nor are we anyone's backyard, here we are free, sovereign and independent, here is a people that are respected”.

“Venezuela is respected,” he emphasized.

He said that in Venezuela the people are always on the street, “always mobilized, we are alert, we have a lot of eyes to be attentive to everything that happens.”

This was stated in the parish of La Pastora, in Caracas, where the community mobilized on a day led by the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, to demand that the United States lift illegal sanctions and in support of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

Meléndez specified that La Pastora is an organized parish, with 47 Bolivar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCH), five territorial axes, 111 communities and 604 streets “organized for whatever comes out”.

“In these last few days we had the election of the communal circuits and La Pastora, it went ahead, the People mobilized with that organization and the People decided what the projects were for each of the circuits,” he said.
