With the objective of ensuring the mobility and safety of users, the Caracas Metro will begin next Monday, June 22, a comprehensive rehabilitation plan that covers seven kilometers of Line 2.

In direct contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the president of the institution, Carlos Silva, reported that the rehabilitation works will last an estimated seven weeks, implying the temporary suspension of commercial service at the Caricuao and Zoológico stations.

“This line has a total of 40 kilometers and right now we are intervening the 7 kilometers that are most affected. The damage is a normal process in these railway systems due to the exhaustion of the useful life of their components and the environmental exposure in this specific section,” he explained.

To mitigate the impact on passenger transportation, Silva explained that a contingency route will be activated with Metrobus units. The buses will depart from the Zoológico and Caricuao stations to Antímano station, where users can continue their trips in the underground system.

This surface transport service will operate with a departure frequency of every 10 minutes.
