The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, handed over the fully rehabilitated Cacique Tiuna Giant Self-Government Room, located in the San Pedro parish of Caracas.

Through his social networks, Meléndez explained that this rehabilitation will benefit 14 communal councils and 21,550 inhabitants that make up the commune of the same name.

The works, including the recovery of Tiuna Square, were carried out jointly with the brigades of the Mayor's Office of Caracas.

Among the tasks carried out, Meléndez specified that there is the “replacement of masonry, replacement of roofs, construction of walls, repair of the external staircase, optimization of sanitary and electrical installations, as well as finishing work, carpentry and glazing”.

The renovated infrastructure will contribute to the organized participation of the commune this Sunday, October 18.

“These spaces will allow the Giant Cacique Tiuna Commune to participate with greater organization in the second National Popular Consultation 2026, which will take place this Sunday, October 18. Together with community and neighborhood organizations, we continue to accompany them in their projects and achievements,” he said.
