The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez and the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, led the Gran Carruchada in the Capital City this Thursday, as part of the Agenda for Peace: January of Victories 2025 promoted by the vice-presidency of mobilization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
From the corner of Santa Capilla, on Urdaneta Avenue, Libertador municipality, Meléndez stated that “this is a family activity... We rescued values; starting this month of January we will be doing activities to celebrate”.
“January 10 is a historic day for the Fatherland, where the Presiding People, President Pueblo, will be sworn in, so we have several activities, including 10 avenues will be filled here,” he stressed.
For his part, Fernández said that “since December 31, we have seen families enjoying peace,” he said and added, “those who try to generate violence are going to be left with the frizzy facts, Venezuela wants to develop in peace.”
Likewise, the head of Government of the Capital District added that together with A/J Meléndez they are thus starting a plan for the recovery of traditional games as a counterpart “to the transculturalization that we see through social networks that lead to drugs, consumerism”.
The men's and women's categories participate in the activity and will award surprise prizes to the participants.
Carruchas are a kind of homemade skateboard, considered a traditional game that is very popular, especially in areas of Caracas during the holiday season.
