In this regard, Jhoanna Carrillo, head of the agro-urban portfolio, said that the agro-urban sector of Caracas is happy, grateful for the support of the Ministry of Productive Agriculture and Lands, as well as the Great AgroVenezuela Mission.

He also explained that the agro-urban sector never tires, “we can demonstrate the productive work of an educator and female conuquera who cultivates two hectares of tomatoes; that is why they have not been able to handle us, nor will they be able to. Thank you very much for these production ammunition provided by the Great AgroVenezuela Mission.

He stressed that agro-urban producers have small spaces, which are converted into production spaces and the Great AgroVenezuela Mission has been promoting it. “We have a great commitment to continue producing and with various modalities; in Caracas we have found aquaponics and hydroponics, on terraces and small spaces, where women who took care of their children, today are also women producers in those small spaces, who also pay tribute to sovereignty and food security.”

For his part, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, Minister of Agriculture and Lands, stressed that this program is an important step in fulfilling the 7T of transformation of the economic model, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro.

“We are supporting this production to be more efficient, but we are also formalizing land tenure, which allows Agrourban and Agrourban producers to have access to credit and financing, as a first step, at the beginning of the year,” he said.

The minister congratulated the work of the MINPPAU to promote the Register of Agrourban Brigades, which makes it possible to quantify the numbers of producers and their production. He explained that thanks to the producers of the big city, hundreds of families are benefiting from agro-urban production, “with fresh products, quality products, which is not only oil that Venezuela produces, it's not just gold, it's healthy, tasty, cheap and sovereign food,” he said.

The minister also noted that such funding is complemented by Venezuela's foreign policy, which seeks to promote cooperation and the exchange of productive experiences with other countries.

Agrourban people are grateful

Patricia Tavares, producer of the Santa Rosalía parish, thanked the Bolivarian government for delivering the agro-urban kit for the production of vegetables, which allows them to be included in the producing parishes of Caracas. “We are receiving a lot of tools, which is reflected in great happiness for us as a parish, because we are planting and harvesting more, that strengthens us, this is the engine that will take us off to be more productive,” he said.
