This Thursday, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, valued the work of the Bolivarian Government through Operation Mercury, whose main purpose is to treat the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.
“The extraordinary work in Operation Mercury, which is the care, protection and rescue of those displaced by war and violence in Colombia, we are receiving and we are treating them lovingly, as taught by Commander (Hugo) Chávez and as demonstrated by President Nicolás Maduro in each of his actions,” said Cabello.
The purpose of Operation Mercury is to provide humanitarian assistance to those displaced by the violence that occurred in Catatumbo in the North of Santander, Colombia.
The plan is executed by the Venezuelan State and is being carried out from the Catatumbo Lightning Airport in Santa Bárbara del Zulia for Colombian citizens.
