The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that there is a shift from civic-military union to popular-military-police fusion.
“It's a fusion, because it's about integration, because united you can be side by side and not talk to each other, but when it merges you mix with each other, the strengths of some with the strengths of others, it's more synergistic, it's stronger,” explained Cabello Rondón, during a broadcast from Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV).
He recalled that the civic-military union cost a lot because there was a campaign in the Fourth Republic for the military to distance themselves from civilians and that same campaign was used with the police.
“Once the civilian-military union was consolidated, the popular-military-police fusion was transferred to the incorporation of the police forces,” he added.
