The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized that the Bolivarian Government does not control what the United States does, but “we prepare for all the attacks against our people and seek to overcome them.”
During the press conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV, Cabello indicated that they have just renewed his Chevron license for two more months, “we don't control it, we adapt.”
“We are working not to mention that this will favor us as a country, as a people. They invoke a law of 1798 to say that Venezuelans are enemies,” he added.
He recalled that many opposition sectors led by María Corina Machado said that Venezuela was a danger to the world, invoked the Inter-American Treaty on Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) and assured that Venezuelans were a contagious plague.
“That they invoke a law of 1798 that has only been used three times, is a consequence of what these irresponsible people (extremist right wing) asked for,” he added.
On the other hand, regarding the sanctions imposed by Canada on Venezuela, Cabello asserted that: “The Government of Canada are scoundrels, they put up with anything and keep quiet.”
