This Sunday, March 16, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, reaffirmed that the revolutionary forces “are not afraid of elections, we have demonstrated it more than 30 times (...) we know how to assimilate the results when we succeed we don't get drunk”.
In that sense, during the PSUV press conference, he questioned the narrative of the media apparatus that there is a dictatorship in Venezuela. “Tremendous dictatorship, which calls for elections almost every month; because after the election of deputies, governors and legislators, the election of mayors and councilors is pending and then the Referendum for Reform is pending,” he said.
He also recalled that in Venezuela on April 27, the second National Popular Consultation of 2025 will be held so that the People can vote for the projects they want for their communities.
He emphasized that in the electoral moments in which the Revolution has lost, they have served for reflection, self-criticism and going back to the counterattack, unlike the sectors of the extreme right that do not know how to respect results and go crazy and intoxicated with power.
For this reason, he pointed out that what happened this Saturday across the country is an example of what will happen in the elections of May 25. “Our orderly, disciplined people are going to vote; that the right has not yet made the decision whether or not they are going to participate, unfortunately that is what there is,” he said, referring to the struggles and divisions of the opposition.
