Cabello: We are completing all the phases for the Popular Consultation!

This Monday, October 5, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that the different phases foreseen in the schedule for the Popular Consultation have been completed, a process that concentrates the territorial deployment of the organization together with the People.

“We are complying with the entire phase, the entire phase of the campaign, the proposed schedule has been fulfilled, we are campaigning, especially campaigning in the territory, in the place where it should be, with whom it should be, together with the people who are there,” he said during the PSUV press conference.

Cabello highlighted that so far more than 37,000 projects have been registered, with the participation of Community Councils and Communes.

He reaffirmed that the Consultations are “an extraordinary manifestation of conscience, mobilization and an authentic democratic exercise”, highlighting the role of communities in defining their projects.

He noted that community organizing has aroused interest outside the country, particularly because of the way in which communities participate in managing their budgets.

“It's a democratic exercise that undoubtedly sets an example for the world. The comrades who come out are asked how this issue of the Communes is and it attracts attention because it is the popular government, well, it is the popular government (...) it is the People who decide,” he said and also pointed out that “hardly anyone will distract from the money that is used for a project, because the comptroller is the same people who are there in the community.”
