This Tuesday, April 02, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that the use of social networks will have a special chapter in the Bill against Fascism, Neofascim and Similar Expressions, since they promote hatred and violence over respect and tolerance.

Social networks deserve a special chapter and it is contained in this Bill (...) because they are designed to promote hate, violence, death, over respect, intolerance and coexistence,” said Vice President Rodríguez during the regular session of the National Assembly.

In that regard, he recalled when Mark Zuckerberg, founder-president and executive director of Meta, appeared before the United States Congress and told the international community “that Facebook's algorithms favor negative messages over positive messages, in other words, messages of hate, controversy, intolerance, violence, destruction of the name and dignity of human beings become more viral.”

He indicated that that is why today Venezuela and President Nicolás Maduro assume the role of this Law in defense of the democracy of our country. “It's not about defending a government or a party, it's about defending a system deeply rooted in the participation of the People, without any kind of discrimination; about defending democracy, defending peace, about defending coexistence and consistency from divergence,” he said.
