The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced the arrest of two mayors of the state of Zulia for their involvement in drug trafficking.

In this regard, he specified that the local leaders of the municipalities of Almirante Padilla and Miranda, Alberto Sobalvarro and Jorge Nava respectively used their authority to support drug trafficking, weapons and the training of paramilitaries.

Cabello explained that these subjects exercised operational control of these mafias, since they require “territorial control, they require control of the territory, of the area”, to solve the logistics for their criminal purposes.

He pointed out that drug trafficking “begins to buy consciousness, to touch people, to involve people, and everyone is leaving something about drug trafficking.”
