The release of six U.S. citizens detained in the country is a signal that the National Government is giving and that is an action that only the legitimate president, Nicolás Maduro, can do, said the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello.

During the usual weekly press conference of the red awning, Cabello pointed out that the recent rapprochement between the Donald Trump administration and the Government of Venezuela “is normal, that is what should happen, that there is always permanent contact.”

In this regard, he highlighted the importance of these approaches being made directly without the presence of “rice farmers who walk around the world looking for those who receive them”.

He also assured that the meetings with representatives of the United States have been public at the request of Venezuela to ensure the transparency of the process. “Right now we are on agenda zero. It's like young people say, everything has been reset,” he emphasized.
