Cabello: They were offering up to 1 million dollars for the release of the American mercenary

The sectoral vice-president of Politics, Citizen Security
and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, announced this Thursday the arrest of a new
group of foreign mercenaries who were planning terrorist actions against
the People and Government of Venezuela, linked to leaders of the extreme right and North American imperialism.
Among those captured is the American citizen Jonathan
Pagán González, who had the job of infiltrating religious sectors.
“He was arrested in the state of Zulia, in an operation that someone
offered to remove his Venezuelan identity card and we are behind the
operation, when he arrived he was arrested and he confesses all his links to destabilizing
plans with terrorist groups,” Cabello said at a press conference.
He said that behind this subject there is a powerful group from the
state of Zulia. “When he was arrested, we managed to capture a police chief from
there, from the state of Zulia, who was offered between 500 and a million dollars
to return this gentleman, so that they
would not take him and not bring him to justice,” he revealed.
Cabello indicated that Pagán González has all the links
with terrorists and “there are a number of people arrested around this one of
this citizen.”
