The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted this Monday the participation of a large number of political parties in the legislative and regional elections to be held on April 27, as announced on this same day by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
“The elections, already announced by the CNE, will take place whether or not the fascist extreme right wants it. Already here, after what we have seen, experienced, fought and overcome, what fascism is capable of, they really remain as something inconsequential,” said Cabello during the usual weekly press conference with the red awning.
He highlighted that for the democratic day, “37 political organizations plus all the social movements that give life to us in political organizations, but that when it comes to voting they go and vote in these political organizations” have announced their participation.
He criticized that “the extreme right will always bet on violence” and they have already stated that they will not accompany the electoral process. “Let them not go, but the people of Venezuela are going. We must remind that extreme right that they have become their own instrument of destruction,” he emphasized.
In this regard, Cabello recalled that the vast majority of extremist leaders who have gone through the record of violence “are living comfortably outside of Venezuela”, and now María Corina Machado, “who offered villas and castles to her followers and has not fulfilled a single one (...) each time a new lie and there are people who unfortunately believe it,” she lamented.
