This Wednesday, November 13, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, assured that the time will come when it will be necessary to regulate and legislate on the use of social networks, stressing that “this is a problem that must be addressed.”
“Whoever wants to scream, but we are not going to hand over the future of this country to psychopaths. No, we can't,” he emphasized.
In this regard, he specified that in Venezuela there have been five poisoning events in schools in the last two weeks, “based on what they call challenges or challengers on the networks, they post messages and promote the participation of people, in this case young people.”
He explained that these two cases occurred in the state of Miranda, one in the state of Barinas and two in Portuguesa.
He stressed that those who promote such practices, “are not interested in a world of peace.”
Faced with this reality, in his Con El Mazo Dando program, broadcast number 503, Cabello asked himself: “How is that happening at home? Because they are preparing that with homemade materials. How do you prepare that and parents aren't aware of those details?”
“Forgive me for saying it like that, maybe a father has a lot of work and doesn't have a chance, but someone has to notice it at home,” he said.
Cabello argued that when you don't have control over the elements that are being used for this type of challenge, you may be building something highly harmful, with dire consequences.
“Dear parents and representatives, dear teachers, this is a job for all of us,” he said.
