The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, stressed that in right-wing Venezuelan governments it has been common to physically and morally assassinate their opponents.
Cabello vindicated the fighter Jesús Márquez Finol, who was assassinated by the state security forces of the first government of Rafael Caldera.
“Jesús Márquez Finol was a young man of just 34 years old, but he was a legend because of his audacity and courage, they chased him down, shot him more than 40 times, his widow was left with his children and they never handed them the body that the security agencies took and buried him on the sides of Maracaibo, as they said,” he recalled.
He reiterated that in the Fourth Republic, the policy of extermination was associated with the term “highly dangerous subject” in order to have a patent as a privateer to eliminate him physically and morally.
