Cabello: PSUV militancy nominated more than 163,000 candidates for the 25th elections (+ detail)

During the day of popular assemblies held this Saturday, the members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) nominated 163,115 candidates for the different positions to be elected on May 25, said the general secretary of this revolutionary tent, Diosdado Cabello.
“One thing is nominations and another is nominations, because there are people who could be proposed for several positions. We had 163 thousand 15 applications with 131,902 candidates, the difference is 31 thousand 113 people who were proposed for more than one position,” Cabello explained during a press conference held this Sunday.
Women are the protagonists!
In this regard, he explained that in the 47,263 assemblies held in the same number of communities, 71,227 women were nominated, equivalent to 54% while 60,675 are men (46%).
He explained that 15.48% of the total number of candidates (21,418) are between 21 and 355 years old; 40.35% (53,222) are between 36 and 50 years old; 44.17% (58,262) are over 50 years old.
More than 21 thousand candidates for governorships!
On the other hand, he indicated that 21 thousand 648 people were proposed to be candidates for governors. “Of the proposals, 48.3% are men, equivalent to 10,456 names; 51.7% are women, corresponding to 11,192 names,” he explained.
He pointed out that 14.2% of the total number of candidates (3,056) are between 21 and 355 years old; 40.3% (8,734) are between 36 and 50 years old; 45.5% (9,858) are over 50 years old.
More than 29 deputies!
As for the candidates proposed to be deputies to the National Assembly, he pointed out that 29,582 are men (44.3%) and 37,149 women (55.7%), adding up to a total of 66,731 candidates to be candidates for seats in the Legislative Branch.
It revealed that 14.36% of the total number of candidates (9,569) are between 21 and 355 years old; 40.22% (26,839) are between 36 and 50 years old; 45.42% (30,323) are over 50 years old.
Young legislators!
For the legislative councils, the bases of the PSUV nominated 74,636 people.
Cabello highlighted that 32 thousand 489 are men (43.5%) and 42 thousand 147 (56.5%) are women. “Of these 10,897 they are between 21 and 35 years old; 31,123 are between 36 and 50 years old; 32,616 are over 50 years old,” he explained.
