During the press conference of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the organization's general secretary, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, referred to the return of several opposing leaders to the national territory and questioned the discourse of political persecution used by these sectors abroad.

“With regard to the opponents of the opponents who are returning, I hope they will join the spirit that exists in Venezuela. If you check, most of those opponents who are returning said to themselves: 'I am a politically persecuted', and they come back right now and that's all right; someone was lying. The truth is that they had links with the sectors that managed the money of all Venezuelans and stole it from them.”

He also stressed that in explaining the internal confrontation of the opposition, “they come to oppose the opponents who stayed in Venezuela, who decided to bet on Venezuela by participating in elections. They have been trying to impose their old ideas and are having a hard time. What they are returning is to push so that the dialogue table does not have a positive result for this country.”

The Secretary General, to contrast the work of the Bolivarian militancy in the face of opposition struggles, added that “a veil has been torn here; they demand from below 'where were you in recent years, why haven't you been aware of the money you managed abroad? ' These are their meetings, while ours is every day to keep moving forward for this country. Their meeting is one of fights and they're going to keep fighting, I guarantee you, there's no way.”
