The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that the Law on Oversight, Regularization, Action and Financing of Non-Governmental and Related Organizations will be approved in the country, despite those who “scream”.
“They're looking for us and they're going to find us with this Constitution and the Law, they're going to have to say where the money is coming from, they're going to have to give up the amount of resources they have to conspire (...) don't think they're going to be above the law, there's going to be justice here and that's part of doing justice in this country,” Cabello said at a PSUV press conference.
However, he indicated that there are NGOs that do work in the country. “There are NGOs that are dedicated to what is worrying (...) we have received support from NGOs that work, we have received them and contributions for the Law and they want to help, and unmask those who border on them,” he said.
He stressed that in the end those who are going to come out “jumping and screaming” are the same as always, like JOIN AND PROVIDE. “NGOs, Non-Governmental Organizations are fine, they don't depend on the national government, but they can't depend on the government of the United States or the governments of the European Union; just to conspire,” he said.
