In his Con El Mazo Dando program, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, argued that right-wing attacks “have strengthened our morale.”

He made this reflection when he spoke about the development of the current presidential campaign for the re-election of candidate Nicolás Maduro, about which he explained that “we have this campaign different from the others; the one in 2013 was a campaign of pain due to the departure of Commander Chávez, and on that occasion the opposition carried out a ruthless campaign like all of them.”

He pointed out that in 2018 our people understood everything that was past and “now in 2024 I have seen the fervor and willingness of the Venezuelan people, many people who - as Chávez says may be unhappy but will not vote for the right - have been overwhelmed with love because their campaign has been one of aggression, violence, sanctions and of trying to assassinate President Maduro, not once but several times and that has strengthened us (...)”.

Cabello said that “they messed with a hornet's nest, a diaper and we're in an uproar all over Venezuela.”
